About Us Karen Wealleans is principle designer at Changing Spaces Ltd. Working with home owners, architects and developers, the company designs unique spaces for urban gardens, lifestyle blocks and office and school grounds. For home owners, creating the perfect outdoor space where you can cook, eat, lounge and contemplate is where Changing Spaces excels. Although mindful of keeping maintenance to a minimum, we love to create gardens that are bursting with life –the joy of seeing fantails flicking through the trees at dusk and tuis taking nectar from the trees. We also like to develop mysterious corners where kids can play hide and seek and adults can sneak away with a good book. Changing Spaces also specializes in revegetation of native plants, subdivision and storm water pond planting and advice on noxious weeds and their removal. Biography After graduating from Massey University with a Bachelor of Horticultural Science (Amenity), Karen worked as a landscape designer in the Waikato, spent nine years overseas in England, Africa and Malaysia and returned to New Zealand twelve years ago to set up her own landscape consultancy.
