It is a testament to Karen, that our friends and visitors always admire the layout of the “resort” courtyard and gardens, as well as the wonderful year round plant display. Gary and I have great pleasure in recommending Karen as a Landscape Designer, and are absolutely certain that she will work professionally and competently with future clients, as she has with us. We enjoyed working with Karen, and are thrilled with the end result.

Case Study 2Ann and Don engaged Changing Spaces Landscape Design in mid 2008 to redesign their swimming pool area. They have a magnificent site in native bush and wanted to redevelop their garden to capitalize on this. CHALLENGES 1 The design of the existing swimming pool fence and deck made access around the garden and pool area very difficult. 2 Although the basic structure of the pool was sound, the coping, paving and decking were dated and there was no room for lounging around the pool. 3 The lawn behind the pool area was difficult to mow, being uneven and sloping 4 There was no area for a vegetable garden or clothesline and an obsolete, steep driveway ran up the Northern boundary.
SOLUTIONS 5 The steps between deck and pool were re designed to allow much easier access. Construction of a planter box and changes to the pool fencing (Council compliant) made the area look much more open and inviting 6 The pool area was re designed to allow for more lounging space directly around the pool. Paved areas (pebble aggregate concrete) were increased and a circular seat installed. 7 The lawn area behind the pool area was removed and replanted with NZ natives found naturally in the area. This has reduced maintenance and given the pool a much more ‘subtropical feel’ 8 The pool fence area has also been planted with native shrubs. They will in time break up the lines of the fence completely. However, they are too fragile to be used as climbing aids over the fence! 9 The lawn on the Northern side of the pool fence was re graded and hydro mulched with lawn seed. It has created a very lush green lawn which provides a perfect back drop to the mature bush beyond. 10 The steep driveway was removed. A flat court yard was constructed off the new bedroom and a long clothesline was installed –out of sight of the bedroom doors. Vegetables, blue berries and citrus have also been planted in new raised areas. PLAN
GARDEN IMPLEMENTED BY WARWICK PRICE LANDSCAPING -Tel 09 4864862 TESTIMONIAL Karen Wealleans completed concept landscape design and planting plans to transform a 'tired' swimming pool and garden area. She was recommended to us by a friend who had been happy with her work. We have no hesitation in recommending her for any work you may be considering. She consulted well and in a timely manner, presented options, and liaised with us and the landscape team during the time they were on site. We are delighted with the outcome and look forward to using our pool and garden area this summer. Contact us here |
