Getting started on your garden at home.
SITE CONSULTATION For small gardens, a 2 hour site consultation which includes a basic plan (finished during the consultation) may be all you require to get started. $200+GST on the North Shore. DETAILED CONCEPT PLAN You will need a detailed concept plan when:- -your garden is large and you have a lot of different spaces. -you want to completely change the existing garden. -you want a swimming pool. -you have level changes within the garden requiring retaining walls or steps. -you want to send the plan out to contractors to obtain competitive quotes. -your ideas will require a building permit or Resource Consent (see swimming pool!) During our initial meeting you will be asked many questions and your replies, carefully noted. Your ideas, budget and the way you use the garden are all vitally important. After a thorough site analysis, a concept plan is drawn to scale. It shows the positions of all paving, lawns, gardens, changes in level and special features. DETAILED PLANTING PLAN Once you are completely happy with the concept plan, a detailed planting plan is the next option. A landscape specification is included which details the work to be completed. Outdoor lighting plans and detailed drawings of pergolas, seats etc will be quoted as additional design items. PLANS DRAWN ON CAD PROGRAMME all landscape plans are drawn on the conputer. this has the following advantages. -plans can be imported directly from the architect or surveyor -concepts can be sent through as PDF files -changes to concept and planting plans can be made very quickly and easily LANDSCAPE SPECIFICATION AND INSTALLATION If you want to have all or part of the garden design installed by professionals, independent quotes are obtained from competent Landscape Contractors. Changing Spaces then works on site with contractors, checking the layout and positioning the plants and other features so that the job is completed to plan specification and client satisfaction. |
